Civil War Ride (142 miles)
Start: Intersection of Routes 28 and 29

1. Start at the intersection of Routes 28 and 29, in Centreville, and head north on Route 28.

2. Take Route 28 north to Route 50.

3. Take Route 50 west to route 606.

4. At the first light on Route 606, turn left onto Evergreen Mill road (emr) stay on emr until it dead ends at route 15.

5. Take 15 north for ~1/4 mile.

6. Turn left on route 7 bypass (west/north) to route 9.

7. Take Route 9 north through Harper's Ferry and into Charlestown (neat place or a meal and a stretch).

8. At u.s. 340, head north.

9. Take left on Route 230 north to Shepardstown

10. In Shepardstown take MD 34…cross the Potomac River into Maryland.

11. Continue on MD 34 north/east to Antietam battlefield national park.

12. Head back toward WV on MD 34, and make a left on MD 65 (south).

13. Make a right onto MD 67.

14. In Knoxville, MD take Route 340 east.

15. Turn on MD 180/478 into Brunswick (neat rr station) head back into Virginia over the bridge.

16. Take Route 287 until you reach Route 7.

17. Take Route 7 east toward Leesburg.

18. Take second Leesburg exit, which will put you on Route 15 and head into Leesburg

19. Stop at the downtown saloon (formerly Payne's biker bar), at the intersections of Routes 15 and 7 directly across from the civil war memorial at the courthouse.

20. From the downtown saloon, make a left on 7 business (east) and go about 4 miles to Route 659.

21. Make a right on Route 659 and continue to dead end (flashing light). 

22. Make a left on Evergreen mill road

23. Make a quick right at the three-way intersection to resume Route 659 and follow Route 659 to Route 234.

24. Make a left on Route 234 and go ~2 miles to Route 29 (check out the old stone house from the civil war at the intersection).

25. Turn left on 29 (north) and head back to the start point.
